Mission Statement

GERF was founded in 2005 with the primary purpose of disseminating excellence in gynaecological practice through the organisation of educational conferences, meetings and seminars.

 

 

Educational activities

 

GERF convenes local, national and international educational conferences, meetings and seminars for doctors, nurses and midwives, embryologists and reproductive counsellors, and consumer groups. Frontiers of gynaecological practice

 

This consists of a two-day conference held annually on the second Monday and Tuesday of September each year. You can view the details of recent and forthcoming conferences by clicking on the links below.

 

2007: Reproductive surgery in the 21st Century

Detailed evaluation of reproductive surgery by an international faculty of acclaimed specialists.

2008: Endometriosis - unravelling the anatomy of an enigma 

Critical evaluation of the causation, non-invasive diagnosis, staging and contemporary management of endometriosis.

2009: Miscarriage - reaching consensus on acute and recurrent events

An attempt to reach some consensus on the definition, investigation and treatment of acute and recurrent miscarriage episodes.

 

Consumer conferences

 

GERF organises one-day consumer conferences in collaboration with support groups and other key stakeholders to increase awareness of the various conditions. Planned conferences include:

Infertility and assisted conception

Endometriosis - pelvic, ovarian and rectovaginal disease

Acute and recurrent miscarriage

Chronic pelvic pain
